Candidly Speaking is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2017 and based in San Jose, California. EIN 85-3059439. This policy covers candidlyspeaking.org and the forms hosted on it.

What we collect

We collect information you choose to give us:

Contact form. Your name, email address, subject, and message.
Question submissions. Your first name, your question, and your email address if you provide one. Email is optional.
Partner inquiries. Details about your organization and what you are looking for.
Standard server logs. Our host records IP address, browser type, and pages visited, as most web servers do.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to you, to register you for events, and to select questions for upcoming conversations. Questions submitted through our site may be read aloud at an event, and they are used without your name attached. We may lightly edit them for clarity.

What we never do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not run advertising on this site.

Services we rely on

A few third party services handle parts of our operations, and each has its own privacy policy:

Zoom hosts our virtual events and handles event registration.
PayPal processes donations. We never see or store your card details.
Google Workspace stores our email and the records behind our event operations.

Your choices

Email us at any time to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. If you are receiving email from us and would rather not, tell us and we will remove you.

Children

Our school programs and Youth in Dialogue serve people under 18. In those settings we work through the school or program partner, and participation is arranged with the appropriate parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children through this website.
